Spring Has Sprung

Spring is finally here and with it comes the dreaded spring clean. Yup, that time when you drag out all the things you will never use again and ponder over keeping them or chucking them.  For most people 9 times out of 10 we end up keeping most things because of the "sentimental value" it holds, but doesn't that drag us down.

Around this time, I believe that most people should do a life spring clean. Sit back, meditate if you'd like and take a look at your life and figure out the areas that need to be changed.  Here are some ideas on how to make your life a more positive adventure:

Make Time

  • Piling too much into your schedule can cause you to get nothing done.  Figure out exactly what it is that is sucking away your time, and create a schedule. 
  • Learn to say no to people. You don't have all the time in the world, and we all want to be needed, but sometimes you have to step back and re-evaluate what it is you really want in life.
  • Just go for it. If you wake up one day and want to take a trip, and have the means to do so buy that ticket and go.
  • Edit your list of friends. We all have those friends who we feel we have to hold onto because you've known them forever. This isn't true, if you've out grown a friend, they make you feel negative or you're putting in more effort than receiving then maybe it's time for you to cut ties and move on

Chuck the Clutter

  • We generally don't need everything that we are harbouring in our homes. Take a good look around and decide what you could part ways with, and live a simpler life
  • Decide the smaller objects that you treasure, and toss the rest
  • It's important for you to feel safe and comfortable in your own home. Buys some plants, build a garden.  Have whatever in your house hold that will lift your spirits.
  • Fix your finances. If you don't know where your money is going, or what you owe now is the time to create a budget and see just where you are losing out and how you can make more for yourself

Refocus your Mind

  •  Give yourself some positive talk. Instead of drowning in a world of negativity and sorrow, counter those thoughts with positivity and appreciation
  • Control what you can, but let everything else go.
  • Find a hands on hobby. Kneading, painting, gardening are all great hobbies that will keep your hands busy as you contemplate life.
  • Reboot your love life. Feeling loved will give you a new perspective on life and keep you busy.
  • Start a work out routine, a healthy body is a healthy mind
  • Change your diet. When you eat a lot of unhealthy foods you begin to feel bogged down and lethargic. This alters the way that your mind feels and the amount of work you can accomplish in a day.

My life is in much need of a revamp! Last year was the year from hell, with breaking up with my boyfriend, leaving the job I'd been with for 7 years and getting my car stolen. I decided that 2014 was going to be my year and right now I'm doing a total live revamp. Moving houses, starting my own company and getting my financials in order. Last week I completely changed my hairstyle and although that may seem like a minor thing, it's given me the new attitude I need!

My 30th birthday is this spring and I finally had that "oh my god my life is almost over moment". My friend laughed and told me that my life wasn't almost over, what I need is a life change something to spice things up and accomplish my dreams. This blog gave me some great pointers and I know where I'm going to get started.

Spring is finally here! I feel like I'm coming out of some of the darkest months I've ever experienced. With the cold, dark and the horrible traffic I was getting beaten further and further down but now that Spring is here I feel better. I feel awake and for the first time in months I feel motivated to do something with my life!

I missed this blog when it first came out, but I plan on using the things you said towards this summer. I want to make this the summer that I get my life in order, accomplish my goals and reduce stress.
